Hello - The Story of Meranus

*An old mage walks into the Golden Apple Tavern and pulls a Seelund employee to the side*

"Boy. Listen... to me.. I must tell you this story. You must tell it to Aydrien and the other captains.. My time is short. I was put into a trance by the powerful Tauren that attacked Northwatch in the Barrens. He.. used some ritual to let me see through his eyes and his past.. He wants to convey a message to us. Listen..


Once a highly acclaimed warrior, Meranus dedicated his life to strength and honor. A valuable defender of Mulgore, Meranus was one of few that saw the Orcs as they arrived on Kalimdor. Aware of the shamanistic ways of the Orcs and Trolls, Meranus took warmly to their arrival although tentative at first.

Many years later, Meranus choose to discover more of the world so he accompanied a druid into the Western plaguelands after hearing about this 'Scourge'.

The druid required an escort, and Meranus was choosen to represent the Windtalker clan.

Quickly after arriving in the 'Western Plaguelands', Meranus went out to scout the land since this was unfamiliar territory.He was quickly surrounded by the undead, and fought valiantly. Meranus was knocked out cold after defeating hundreds, beyond hundreds of Kel'Thuzzad's minions. Meranus then awoke to find himself in the Lich King's presence. He was then offered his soon-to-be runeblade, Honor's Bane. Meranus took the weapon with no knowledge of the fate he brought apon himself.

Meranus then became a Death Knight. His eyes glowed blue and he took orders from Arthas. He quickly decided this was not the life for him, and rose up during the battle for Light's Hope.Yearning for his homeland, he returned to Kalimdor, a broken warrior.

After many years away from his home, Meranus finally was near his village in the Southern Barrens, only to find it to be replaced by an Alliance Fortress, Northwatch. Infuriated, Meranus slaughtered all of the Alliance. After the fight, the ground was litered with human corpses. On the crates Meranus noticed a stragne seal on the supply boxes with a strange logo. SEELUND TRADING CO. Due to past issues with the Venture Co, he doesn't take lightly to a company's presence in the Barrens or even at Theramore Isle. Meranus will fight for his sacred land, and discover the location of his family. The Seelund Trading Co, should not be at ease, Meranus will come for you, for he feels the Company is the reason his tribe is gone or dead."

*The mage coughs and falls to the ground. The nearby people come to his aid and carry him off to priests in the Cathedral of Light*
